The Getz, Kennedy, and Bueg family history

Their twin sons, William Joseph and Richard were born in New York in 1880, and raised at Father Baker's Orphanage in Lackawanna after their father was lost at sea off Newfoundland. William Joseph married Catherine BUEG (1878-1969). She was third of 16 children of Mary Elizabeth LAUER and John Bueg, who emigrated from Germany after his first wife and child were shot by the czar's army. Teresa Albina Kennedy (1912-1984), ninth of William and Catherine's 16 children, married William Franklin GETZ (1910-1980, first of 10 children of Norman Getz and Elma FIEDLER) on July 8, 1936. Together they had seven children. Each of their five girls were given first names beginning with "A", middle names starting with "M",and took confirmation names beginning with "D", making their initials "AMDG", for "Ad maiorem Dei gloriam" ("to the greater glory of God",motto of the Jesuits). The family now numbers 29 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
